What's the point of the spring action whisk you might ask - well in my experience it's actually perfect for mixing in my direct in-cup whisking and smaller jugs for things like scrambled eggs, hot chocolate and gravy where I have an uncoordinated tendency to make a bit of a mess when whisking, shooting the contents up and over the side during normal whisking. Yes its a bit of a first world problem, but honestly being able to thoroughly mix hot chocolate in the cup for a single servicing and beat out all the lumps is great. It makes it so much less hassle and so we've been doing it more and more. I'm not a dab hand with a fork whisking technique so I'm actually really finding this useful. Super simple to clean too as I just give it a couple of pumps in the washing up bowl of soapy water. The tip is nicely rounded so even though it requires some vertical force it doesn't appear to be marking the surface of my cups or jugs.
